Binderholz Timber, Inc.
About Binderholz Timber, Inc.
The Enfield mill came out of the Klausner Lumber Two bankruptcy auction, bought by Austria's binderholz Group for US$83.4 million in December 2020 in a deal that closed the following January, and formally opened under its new owner in April 2023. Trade press reported it running over 200 million board feet a year at full production, which would make it one of the largest softwood sawmills in North Carolina; the county development office reported a forecast of 120 full-time jobs by 2024. The wood is southern yellow pine, and the product list runs well past lumber - profiled and planed stock, structural wood, solid wood panels, pressboard, pellets, pallets, horse litter and planing chips, under a stated zero-waste principle that turns residuals into densified biofuel.
Also trades as Binderholz Enfield LLC. Part of binderholz Group.
