On its own website the company calls itself the nation's largest producer of Atlantic White Cedar products — an unusual specialty for a North Carolina mill, and one it pairs with cypress, trademarked as American Cypress™ in 2020. The Gatesville operation produces nearly 12 million board feet a year on a 50-acre site with 58,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, and it is vertically integrated: sawmill, track and package dry kilns totaling 200,000 board feet of capacity plus two more 50,000-foot kilns installed in early 2023, a planer mill, and more than 80 moulding profile configurations sold to wholesale distributors at home and abroad. Every piece of lumber is barcoded and tracked through each processing stage. Founded in 1978, bought by new family owners in 2012, and now in what it describes as its third generation of family leadership.
