Egger Wood Products
About Egger Wood Products
Worth knowing up front: this plant does not buy standing timber. EGGER says it sources raw material by purchasing wood by-products from sawmills in and around North Carolina, and it also runs recycled wood through a Timberpak facility in Charlotte, with a second recycling centre planned for the Raleigh-Durham area. The Linwood site is the Austrian group's first manufacturing plant in North America, in production since September 2020 after construction began in 2018. It covers more than 240 acres with ten buildings and over 800,000 square feet, and the company says it is already one of the largest employers in Davidson County, with headcount around 490 after a $21.5 million paper impregnation line was added in 2023. A third lamination line announced in December 2021 raised thermally fused laminate capacity by half, to 150 million square feet a year.
Also trades as Lexington Particleboard Plant. Part of EGGER Group.
