Opened in 1945 as Troy Lumber Sales Corporation by Frederick Leslie Taylor, Sr., incorporated under its present name in 1948, and now in the third generation of Taylor family leadership. The Leslie Street mill employs more than 170 people and turns out over 160 million board feet of finished lumber a year. In 2023 the company bought a hardwood mill and converted it to pine production, and a November 2024 feature in Construction in Focus credited part of its growth to staying open through the COVID-19 pandemic while larger corporate mills shut down. That profile also describes a servant-leadership philosophy, daily and monthly safety meetings, and a workers' compensation experience rating improved by cutting accidents. The mill hires foresters, electricians, PLC programmers and heavy equipment mechanics directly rather than contracting them.
